Well the Melvin’s are back and might I say Andy and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching their family grow. Their newest addition is Caleb. This was supposed to be a surprise for daddy Jeff for Father’s Day, but somebody kept bugging his wife to call us to get pictures done. So, Laura decided to tell him so he could be in them as well. As usual big brother Jeffrey was outstanding, Kadence  was absolutely refusing to smile in the beginning but we soon figured out how to make her crack up, and little Caleb could have cared less what we did. He slept the whole time. Grammy even came along for a few shots with the family. You guys  have such a great family and we are so blessed to have you as clients.

Jennifer Lloyd and Matt Trader tied the knot on May 15, 2010. The day started with preliminary shots of Jen getting into her gorgeous wedding gown followed by pictures of her and the girls and Matt and the boys at Trinity. Her gown was simply elegant, just like Jen. We had a beautiful ceremony at Trinity United Methodist church officiated by Rev Patterson and then off to Clearview at Horns Point in Cambridge, Md. There were a lot of details put into this wedding and their color theme of pink and green was so eye-catching.  Jim Grey of City Florist did a fantastic job with the flowers and Cindy McEarchen of Kit by Cindy made sure the day ran smoothly. Classic Cakes made a not only beautiful but delicious cake as usual. The reception was a huge party and it was so nice seeing the grooms big crazy Italian family again. We had originally met them at Erin and Marilyn’s wedding in Martha’s Vineyard several years ago. Jen’s dad gave one of the best father’s speeches we have ever heard. He had us all laughing hysterically, mostly at Matt’s expense. Thanks for letting us share in your special day guys. We luv ya!

The Scheiber family stepped into our studio and right away we knew this was going to be a fantastic event. Emily though very quite and reserved had very definite opinions on what she wanted for her Bat Mitzvah. If you have ever attended a Bar or Bat Mitzvah before then you know that these are whirlwind events that are planned and dreamed about for years. The traditions are so strong and even if you are not Jewish you will be so intrigued by their culture and religious traditions. Then there is the party. Fun, fun, fun! From the moment you walk in the door it is nonstop entertainment for the kids. Emily’s was held at the Ocean Pines Yacht club. The event was videoed by Marsh Video Productions who also put together a tear jerking growing up montage of Emily. Barry Hart of  Interactive DJ Entertainer & Light Show along with his dancers Dana and Lala made sure nobody sat down. Here are a few of our favorites from Emily’s big day and we thank the Sheiber family for letting us be a part of it.

Well it has been a busy week so I have decided to combine a few sittings. It is First Communion season and I want to say congrats to all our families. It is such an honor that you allowed us to document such a special occasion. All these young ladies were outstanding during their portrait session and I am so glad they could have so much fun doing them. Madison  Synowiec, Sarah McDonald, and Anna Palenchar you guys looked so beautiful.

Ethan turns six months old and there is no better time to schedule a family portrait. You may remember Jen, JJ, and Ethan from our most loyal family post. They are truly very special to us and we have shared so many memories with this family. I can’t believe how much Ethan has changed already and he was an absolute joy to photograph. What a great personality he has. We love you guys.

Kim and I have had the pleasure of knowing Stefanie Sirota for several years. We first met when she was the event coordinator for Lighthouse Sound in Ocean City, MD. Since then she has started working at Heritage Shores in Bridgville, DE. Stef always talked about her boyfriend Matt, but he was a mystery man to us. Well Matt finally popped the question and it was about time. What a great couple and when we found out we would be photographing their wedding we were so excited. In Stef’s business she works with a lot of photographers, so  just the fact that she trusted us to document her special day was an honor. We arrived on a Wednesday and it was absolutely beautiful in the Outerbanks. The temperature was in the 8O’s. We got to lay on the beach for a few hours before heading to the rehearsal and enjoying a fantastic dinner with them and their family at Owens. Thursday’s weather was not the best but no one let that dampen their spirits. Even with the cool temps, clouds, and wind we all made the best of it. Stefanie could not have looked more beautiful. Classic and elegant was exactly what we expected. We had a blast doing their pictures and it was really hard to be serious with that crowd. Butler kept us laughing the whole day. Mallory and Sean from City Florist did an awesome job with the flowers and decorations. Marsha from Great Cakes provided   not only a beautiful but a delicious cake for the wedding and rehearsal dinner. I think we all enjoyed the BBQ from High Cotton and DJ Bruce kept the house rockin all night. Last but not least Nannette Kallestad was a wonderful wedding coordinator. It was truly a pleasure working with her. To Stefanie and Matt, their family and friends, Kim and I really enjoyed our time with you guys. Thanks for making our job so much fun.

On Tuesday May 18, 2010 I traveled again to Dover Delaware to attend the latest DPP Print Competition. I have to say that everyone seems to have stepped it up a notch and the judges were some of the best we have had. They were tough, honest, and fair. I submitted a print in the Illustrative category for the first time and I got fourth place with “Parting Gift” I was very happy because the print also earned a merit. In the Wedding/Candid category I placed Best in Show with ” A Moment” that also earned a merit.  Also in that category I received two corners.  I had a great time and it was really nice to see everyone again and get a good look at what everyone is doing.

Best in Show     “A Moment”

Fourth Place   “Parting Gift”

The Powell family has been very special to us. Fairly early on in our carrier we did their daughter Jamie’s wedding and now their son Ricky. This family is so much fun to be around and even though Ricky hates having his picture taken Kristina didn’t let him complain too much. It was a gorgeous day and we started with their pictures at the Berlin First Baptist Church. The reverend was super cool and really let us do whatever we wanted. I think we get the most leniency from the ministers because we aren’t obnoxious during the ceremony and boy do they appreciate that. It is sad how some photographer’s with their lack of professionalism have made it difficult on us. After the ceremony we stopped by a little park in Berlin and got some great shots. They had their reception at the Pittsville Fire Hall and DJ Freddie Birch did a great job as always. Robin at Kitty’s did a great job with the flowers. If I didn’t tell you would you have known they were silk? We couldn’t tell until we touched them. Last but not least thanks for not having a fountain under your cake. That is our own private family joke. To Kristina’s family it was a pleasure meeting you guys and we hope you love the pictures. We enjoyed spending the day with all of you.
